Fifth Avenue Collection evolved from a hobby that began many years ago.
The Butler family began cutting and polishing gemstones in the basement
of their home. The entire family developed a keen interest in their craft
which eventually branched into an interest in Jewelry design.
Although they worked mainly with local stones in the beginning, it wasn’t
long before they were cutting gemstones from around the world.
From these humble beginnings evolved a direct sales company that
encompasses independent Jewelers from Canada, the United States,
England, Australia, and the Netherlands. Fifth Avenue Collection
boasts the most comprehensive collection of high-line Fashion
Jewelry in the world. It is the brand of choice for millions of
fashion conscious women.
Fifth Avenue Collection Head Office is a magnificent 3-story Georgian
mansion built in 1913 by the famous New York Architect, Charles Zimmerman.
It was restored to its original beauty in 1989 by Fifth Avenue Collection.
During the extensive renovations, the Butler family wanted the house to
retain its original architectural style, featuring: columns, spindles,
stairways, stained glass windows, and lavish fireplaces.
The marble that covers much of the main floor is from the same quarry
lot that was used in the Imperial Place in Bangkok, Thailand.
The chandeliers that are seen in every room of the mansion are finished
in 24-karat gold. The crystal components are genuine Austrian Crystal. Door
knobs and hinges throughout the house are also finished in 24-karat gold.
A charming conservatory, on the east side of the building, is notable for
its original mosaic tile floor.
Fifth Avenue Collection’s skilled gemcutters designed and executed
specially-crafted countertops for the washrooms on the main floor.
One counter top is of Malachite from Zimbabwe: the other is of
Rhodonite, a very rare gemstone found only on Salt Spring Island,
British Columbia, Canada.
An enchanting old English gazebo with sparkling leaded glass windows
and bright copper roof is the centerpiece of the beautiful rose gardens
which surround the mansion in summer and bring many visitors to its
doorstep. In winter the grounds change to a magical Christmas wonderland.
